Life & Living life.

A. Powell Davies:
Life is just a chance to grow a soul.

Abraham Lincoln:
And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

                              Alan Bennett:
Life is rather like a tin of sardines - we're all of us looking for the key.

Albert Camus:
All men have a sweetness in their life. That is what helps them go on. It is towards that they turn when they feel too worn out.

                                       Albert Einstein:
Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.

Alice Walker:
Deliver me from writers who say the way they live doesn't matter. I'm not sure a bad person can write a good book. If art doesn't make us better,
then what on earth is it for.

Anais Nin:
Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.

Anais Nin:
people living deeply have no fear of death.

Anais Nin:
The personal life deeply lived always expands into truths beyond itself.

Anais Nin:
Dreams pass into the reality of action. From the actions stems the dream again; and this interdependence produces the highest form of living.

                                                                     Arthur Rubinstein:
Love life and life will love you back. Love people and they will love you back.

Barry Lopez:
How is one to live a moral and compassionate existence when one is fully aware of the blood, the horror inherent in life, when one finds darkness not only in one's culture but within oneself? If there is a stage at which an individual life becomes truly adult, it must be when one grasps the irony in its unfolding and accepts responsibility for a life lived in the midst of such paradox. One must live in the middle of contradiction, because if all contradiction were eliminated at once life would collapse. There are simply no answers to some of the great pressing questions. You continue to live them out, making your life a worthy expression of leaning into the light.

                         Bernice Johnson Reagon:

Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you,
they're supposed to help you discover who you are.

Bertrand Russell:
Three passions have governed my life:
The longings for love, the search for knowledge,
And unbearable pity for the suffering of [humankind].
Love brings ecstasy and relieves loneliness.
In the union of love I have seen
In a mystic miniature the prefiguring vision
Of the heavens that saints and poets have imagined.
With equal passion I have sought knowledge.
I have wished to understand the hearts of [people].
I have wished to know why the stars shine.
Love and knowledge led upwards to the heavens,
                                  But always pity brought me back to earth;
Cries of pain reverberated in my heart
Of children in famine, of victims tortured
And of old people left helpless.
I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot,
                                  And I too suffer.
This has been my life; I found it worth living.

Bertrand Russell:
The good life is inspired by love and guided by knowledge.

Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more.                                   Brother David Steindl-Rast :

Carl Jung:
There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.

Buddha Quotes

All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him. Buddha ***** All wrong-doing arises because of mind. If the mind is transformed can wrong-doing remain? Buddha ***** An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind. Buddha  ***** Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace. Buddha  ***** Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. Buddha  ***** Do not overrate what you have received, nor envy others. He who envies others does not obtain peace of mind. Buddha  ***** Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely. Buddha ***** Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by l...

La Pieta.

In the midst of war and strife, Lies a world full of human life, Suffering and pain, tears and cries, As the ground beneath them dies. Mothers weep and children cry, As bombs fall from the sky, Fathers lost and brothers gone, As the battle rages on. Innocent lives caught in the crossfire, As the hatred and anger conspire, Leaving behind a trail of destruction, And a world full of disruption. Yet amidst all this chaos and despair, There is still a glimmer of hope and care, For those who strive for peace and love, And look to the heavens above. Let us come together, hand in hand, And build a world that we can all understand, Where the sun shines on every face, And we all live in a world full of grace.

Adversity Strenght. Positive Affirmation.

We all read quotes to give us wisdom, strength, …   After reading them one feels empowered, elevated, wiser.... but quickly the feelings dissipates. Why can we sustain those feelings of power of renewed trust on oneself? I would like to try something. I will learn one quote and repeat it in the course of the whole day, making the quote my mantra, until it will be part of my normal though. Join me and let try it for one day. Leave me a comment if you did try it.  Also if you have ideas on how to sustaining that positive mental thinking please share it in the comment.                                           . Don t forget to leave a comment and to subscribe for more fun post.
